Senior Lab Technician

Job SummaryThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient samples while ensuring accurate and timely test results. The role requires strict adherence to NABL guidelines, quality standards, infection control protocols, and laboratory SOPs.

• Key ResponsibilitiesCollect blood and other clinical specimens using proper phlebotomy techniques.
• Receive, label, process, and prepare samples for testing.
• Perform routine laboratory investigations in Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical Pathology, Immunology, and Serology as per SOPs.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Conduct daily quality control (QC) and document all quality assurance activities.
• Ensure proper sample storage, handling, and transportation.
• Enter patient and test information accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Generate, verify, and maintain laboratory reports with complete confidentiality.
• Follow NABL, biosafety, infection control, and waste disposal guidelines.
• Monitor reagent inventory and inform the Laboratory Manager about stock requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
• Coordinate with doctors, phlebotomists, and front-office staff for smooth laboratory operations.
• Assist in corporate health check-up camps, home collections, and preventive health programs when required.
• Report equipment malfunctions or abnormal quality control findings immediately.
• Participate in internal audits, external quality assurance programs, and staff training activities.
• Required QualificationsDMLT / BMLT / MLT or equivalent qualification.
• Valid registration/certification (where applicable).
• 1–3 years of experience in a diagnostic laboratory (Freshers may also apply).
• Required SkillsGood knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
• Hands-on experience with automated analyzers.
• Knowledge of NABL standards and laboratory quality systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred ExperienceExperience in NABL-accredited laboratories.
• Experience handling corporate health check-ups and preventive health packages.
• Knowledge of ECG, Spirometry, Audiometry, and sample collection protocols will be an added advantage.
• Working ConditionsRotational shifts as per laboratory requirements.
• Willingness to travel for corporate camps and health screening programs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle biological specimens safely.
