Job Description – Senior Accountant (Manufacturing Industry)

Role SummaryWe are looking for an experienced accountant with strong expertise in GST compliance, financial accounting, bank reconciliation (BRS) and general accounting operations. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the manufacturing sector and the ability to manage a complete accounting department independently.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Management·        Oversee day-to-day accounting operations in line with company policies.

·        Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Cash/Bank transactions.

·        Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

GST & Statutory Compliance·        • Handle all GST filings including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and monthly/annual returns.

·        Perform GST reconciliation and resolve mismatches with vendors/customers.

·        Maintain compliance with TDS/TCS, PF/ESI, and other statutory requirements.

·        Coordinate with statutory auditors and support in audit documentation.

Banking & Reconciliation·        Prepare and review Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).

·        Monitor cash flow, banking transactions, and fund allocation.

·        Liaise with banks for payments, loans, LC, BG, and other financial instruments.

Manufacturing Accounting·        Manage inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and valuation.

·        Work closely with production and stores teams for material costing and WIP valuation.

·        Analyze cost variances, production expenses, and consumption trends.

·        Prepare cost sheets and provide insights for pricing and budgeting.

Audit & Reporting·        Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance and timely closure.

·        Prepare and present MIS reports, management dashboards, and financial analysis.

·        Implement and monitor internal controls to strengthen financial discipline.

Salary Calculation:

·        Should be able to do proper salary calculation and understand ESI/ PF deductions

Team Leadership·        Supervise the accounting team and ensure task accuracy and deadlines are met.

·        Provide guidance on accounting processes, documentation, and compliance.

·        Improve departmental efficiency through process optimization and automation.

Required Skills & Competencies·        Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory compliance, BRS & audit.

·        Hands-on experience in manufacturing accounts & inventory costing.

·        Expertise in Tally / SAP / ERP systems and should know advanced excel

·        Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Good communication and team management abilities.

·        High attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.

• 4+ years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry.
