Assistant Warehouse Manager

We are looking for an experienced warehouse coordinator to manage and oversee all warehouse activities, ensure efficient processes, and maximize warehouse productivity. The warehouse supervisor's responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods, and preparing relevant documentation.

To be successful as a warehouse coordinator you should be experienced in optimizing warehousing processes and be an effective team leader. An outstanding warehouse coordinator should be dependable and have excellent organizational and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Material Management

• Track and maintain accurate inventory of raw materials (lumber, nails, fasteners) and finished pallets.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment with purchasing or production teams.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of materials.

Shipping & Receiving

• Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound pallet shipments.
• Verify quantities and quality of received materials against purchase orders.
• Prepare documents, delivery notes, and bills of lading.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and customers.
• Ensure timely loading/unloading of trucks while maintaining safety standards.

Production Coordination

• Communicate daily production requirements to warehouse and yard teams.
• Ensure raw materials are staged and available for manufacturing.
• Coordinate movement of finished pallets to storage or dispatch areas.
• Work closely with production supervisors to support workflow efficiency.

Warehouse Operations

• Maintain warehouse and yard organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
• Monitor equipment usage (forklifts, pallet jacks) and report maintenance needs.
• Implement and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist in optimizing space utilization and material flow.

Documentation & Reporting

• Update inventory and shipment records in ERP/WMS or spreadsheets.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on inventory levels, shipments, and discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve inventory or shipping variances.

Qualifications -

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics preferred).
• BTech or BE also preferred.
• 1 - 4 years of experience in warehouse coordination, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience in wood products, pallet manufacturing, or industrial environments is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
• Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor/industrial environment.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Basic understanding of shipping documentation and carrier coordination.
