Assistant General Manager 

Location: Hyderabad (with travel within the state and outside as required) 

Employment Type: Full-time, Individual Contributor 

Compensation: Fixed Salary + Commissions 

About Valence Asta Sports 

Valence Asta Sports is fast growing a custom cricket bat manufacturing company committed to crafting premium, performance-driven bats for players across levels. We're building our brand presence and sales network — both in India and globally — and are looking for a hands-on Growth Manager to drive this next phase. 

About the Role 

We're looking for a versatile, high-ownership Assistant General Manager to lead sales, marketing, and operations for Valence Asta Sports. This is a true 360° growth role — you'll be the person who builds pipelines, closes deals, owns marketing end-to-end, builds community and brand affinity, and keeps the business data-driven and organized for founder-level decision-making. 

There will be P&L ownership and monthly sales targets for this role. Revenue generation is its primary responsibility. Candidate with prior experience working in sales & marketing with targets are mandatory. 

Role Split: 40% Sales | 40% Marketing | 20% Operations 


Key Responsibilities 

Sales (B2B & B2C) 

● Develop and grow B2B business by identifying and engaging clubs, academies, teams, distributors, and retailers within Telangana and other target markets 

● Travel as required to build and manage business relationships 

● Handle B2C sales, both in-store and outside, ensuring a strong customer experience and conversion 


Marketing — End-to-End Ownership This is not a social-media-posting role. You will own the full marketing funnel — strategy, execution, and results. 

● Build and drive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, word of mouth, and market positioning 

● Generate high-quality leads through online and offline initiatives, and own their nurturing through to conversion 

● Build and manage ongoing relationships with customers post-sale to drive repeat business, referrals, and long-term brand loyalty 

● Own the end-to-end development of business through the website and social media channels 

● Work closely with an external agency to ensure the website is optimized to generate leads and business from customers across the world 

● Manage social media hands-on — content planning, posting, engagement, and performance tracking 

● Plan and execute both online and offline marketing campaigns end to end 


Community Connect & Brand Building 

● Develop and grow community connect for the brand through a variety of grassroots and on-ground marketing initiatives (prior experience in this is a must) 

● Represent the brand at relevant industry forums, events, and exhibitions to build visibility and generate leads 

● Build relationships with cricket clubs, academies, coaches, players, and local cricket communities to strengthen word-of-mouth and brand presence on the ground 


Operations & Reporting 

● Build and maintain an organized, data-driven system to track sales, marketing performance, and leads 

● Prepare regular, structured reports for the founder on business performance and growth metrics 

● Support operational coordination as needed to ensure smooth execution of sales and marketing initiatives 


Ideal Candidate Profile 

● Prior experience in the cricket industry strongly preferred, with existing market connections (clubs, academies, players, retailers, distributors) 

● Proven experience building community connect and brand engagement through varied on-ground marketing initiatives — this is a must-have, not a nice-to-have 

● Proven experience owning marketing end-to-end — strategy, lead generation, nurturing, conversion, and customer relationship management — not just content/social media execution 

● Proven experience in B2B and/or B2C sales 

● Strong, hands-on experience managing social media and digital marketing 

● Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor, owning outcomes end-to-end 

● Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable building reporting systems from scratch 

● Willingness to travel within Telangana and outside as required 

● Strong communication and relationship-building skills 


Compensation 

Fixed salary + performance-based commissions.
