Job Description: Nurse – Eye Hospital Position: Staff Nurse

Department: Ophthalmology / Eye Care

Experience: Fresher or experienced candidates

Qualification: GNM / ANM / B.Sc Nursing – Registered Nurse

• Key Responsibilities: Assist ophthalmologists during eye examinations, minor procedures, and surgeries.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests such as vision tests, IOP checks, dilation, and imaging.
• Administer medications, eye drops, injections, and follow prescribed treatment plans.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
• Assist in OT duties such as instrument sterilization, preparing surgical trays, and maintaining OT protocols.
• Monitor patient vitals, maintain case sheets, and update patient records accurately.
• Educate patients on post-surgery care, medication usage, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain hygiene, sterilization, and infection control standards in all eye-care areas.
• Coordinate with doctors, administration, and other nursing staff for smooth patient flow.
• Required Skills:Strong knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
• Experience in eye-care procedures such as dilation, dressing, and assisting in eye surgeries (preferred).
• Good understanding of infection control and sterilization.
• Ability to handle OT instruments and maintain sterilization protocols.
• Excellent patient care, empathy, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and attentive with elderly or sensitive patients.
• Basic computer skills for recording patient data.
• Preferred Qualities: Patient-friendly, polite, and compassionate.
• Willingness to learn specialized ophthalmic techniques.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
