Job Description: Sofa Upholstery Tailor –

Pattern Making & Stitching

Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled Upholstery Tailor who can create fabric/leather patterns for new

sofa designs and stitch them with precision. The ideal candidate combines strong tailoring

craftsmanship with pattern-making ability for New Product Development (NPD), along with

working knowledge of sofa cladding.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop fabric/leather cutting patterns from new sofa design specifications and

prototypes (NPD support).

● Stitch sofa covers, cushions, and upholstery components to defined quality standards.

● Translate 2D/3D design references into accurate, production-ready patterns.

● Make sample patterns for new product trials and refine based on fit, finish, and

feedback.

● Perform cladding work on sofa frames — wrapping, fixing, and finishing fabric/leather

over frame structures.

● Ensure consistency in stitch quality, seam alignment, and material usage across

production batches.

● Coordinate with the design and production team during new product development

cycles.

● Maintain efficient material utilization to minimize fabric/leather wastage.

● Follow safety and quality protocols on the production floor.
