Job Description
- Phlebotomist – Key ResponsibilitiesCollect blood samples from patients using standard venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
- Ensure correct patient identification before sample collection.
- Label, document, and handle specimens accurately to prevent errors.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
- Maintain proper hygiene and sterilization of collection areas and equipment.
- Prepare patients for sample collection and explain procedures professionally.
- Perform home sample collection visits as assigned by the organization.
- Ensure timely transportation and delivery of samples to the laboratory.
- Maintain sample collection records and related documentation.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of collection supplies and consumables.
- Handle patients courteously and provide a comfortable collection experience.
- Report any sample collection issues, patient concerns, or incidents to the supervisor.
- Follow NABL and laboratory quality standards and procedures.
- Assist in organizing health camps, corporate camps, and community screening programs when required.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth processing of samples.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management related to sample collection and patient services.
