Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and target-driven Assistant Sales Manager to support our sales leadership in driving revenue growth, managing the sales team, and expanding our customer base. You will play a key role in executing sales strategies, mentoring the team, and ensuring consistent achievement of sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

Support the Sales Manager in planning and implementing sales strategies to meet revenue targets

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance against set goals

Identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential clients

Prepare and present sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance reports

Ensure consistent achievement of individual and team sales targets

Team Management & Leadership

Supervise, guide, and motivate the front-line sales team

Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and one-on-one coaching sessions

Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new sales representatives

Set clear KPIs for team members and track their progress

Resolve team conflicts and maintain a high-performance work culture

Client Relationship Management

Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients and accounts

Handle escalated client concerns and ensure timely resolution

Conduct client visits, product demos, and presentations as needed

Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention

Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts

Sales Operations & Reporting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system (Salesforce, Zoho CRM, HubSpot, etc.)

Track leads, opportunities, and deal closures across the sales funnel

Analyze sales data to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for senior leadership

Coordinate with marketing, operations, and finance teams for smooth sales execution

Training & Development

Conduct product knowledge and sales skill training sessions for the team

Share best practices, winning strategies, and market insights with team members

Keep the team updated on competitor activities, pricing, and market trends

Support team members in closing high-value or complex deals

Who You Are

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)

3–6 years of experience in sales, with at least 1–2 years in a team lead or supervisory role

Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets

Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

Proficient in CRM tools — Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, or similar

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and reports

Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Willingness to travel for client meetings and field visits (if applicable)

Nice to Have

Experience in B2B or B2C sales within [specific industry — FMCG / SaaS / Real Estate / Finance]

Exposure to channel sales, dealer networks, or enterprise account management

Knowledge of sales automation and lead generation tools

Prior experience working in a startup or high-growth organization
