Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial transactions and inventory accounting for our authorized Exide battery distribution business. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Tally Prime, a solid understanding of GST compliance, and the ability to accurately track stock, manage dealer ledgers, and handle daily cash/bank reconciliations.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesDay-to-Day Bookkeeping: Record daily sales, commercial purchases, expenses, and payments accurately using Tally Prime.
  • Dealer Ledger & Billing Management: Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable/payable. Ensure timely billing for dealers and regular follow-ups for outstanding payments.
  • Inventory Accounting: Monitor stock levels of batteries and related components. Perform periodic physical verification and reconcile discrepancies against Tally records.
  • Taxation & Compliance: Manage GST billing, generate E-Way bills, and accurately compile data for monthly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and TDS compliance.
  • Banking Operations: Perform daily bank reconciliations, manage petty cash, and track bank transactions (NEFT/RTGS/Cheques).
  • Reporting: Prepare periodic basic MIS reports, outstanding payment statements, and cash flow updates for management review.
  • Key Requirements & QualificationsEducation: B.Com, M.Com, or equivalent accounting background.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within a retail, distribution, or automobile spare parts showroom environment.
  • Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
  • Industry Knowledge: Practical understanding of Indian tax laws, GST filing procedures, and invoicing standards.
  • Soft Skills: Strong numerical capability, high attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to data management.
