Position: Area Sales Manager (ASM) – Genset Sales

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager

Location: Assigned Territory/Region

Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth of diesel generators (DG Sets/Gensets) within the assigned territory through direct sales, dealer/channel management, project sales, and key account development. The role focuses on achieving revenue targets, expanding market share, developing channel partners, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development



Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for DG Sets/Gensets.



Identify new business opportunities in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, telecom, and real-estate sectors.



Generate leads through consultants, EPC contractors, builders, and project developers.



Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and technical discussions.



Prepare and negotiate quotations and close sales deals.



2. Dealer & Channel Management



Appoint, develop, and manage dealers/distributors within the territory.



Monitor dealer performance, inventory, and sales growth.



Conduct dealer training on product features, applications, and sales processes.



Support channel partners in lead conversion and project execution.



3. Key Account Management



Build strong relationships with major customers and consultants.



Handle institutional and corporate accounts.



Ensure customer retention and repeat business.



Coordinate with service and operations teams for customer satisfaction.



4. Market Intelligence



Track competitor pricing, products, and promotional activities.



Analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities.



Provide regular feedback on customer requirements and emerging market segments.



5. Forecasting & Reporting



Prepare sales forecasts and territory plans.



Submit weekly/monthly sales reports and pipeline updates.



Track order execution, collections, and outstanding payments.



Maintain CRM and customer records.



Required Qualifications



Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Management.



MBA (Sales/Marketing) preferred.



2 years of experience in Genset, Power Generation, Electrical Equipment, Industrial Equipment, or Capital Goods sales.



Strong understanding of DG Sets, AMF Panels, Synchronization Systems, and Power Solutions.
