Civil Site Engineer

1. Execution & Supervision:

• Supervise day-to-day site execution of structural steel fabrication, alignment, assembly, and erection works at the power plant site.
• Interpret structural drawings, fabrication drawings (shop drawings), and billing of quantities (BOQ).
• Coordinate and manage sub-contractors, fabricators, fitters, and welders to maximize daily productivity.

2. Quality Assurance & Control:

• Ensure fabrication alignment, welding quality (NDT, ultrasonic, radiographic testing coordinates), and bolt-tightening meet structural specifications.
• Conduct checks on raw materials, structural steel sections, and welding consumables upon delivery.
• Maintain strict tolerance limits during structural alignment and erection (plumb, level, and orientation checks).

3. Planning & Progress Tracking:

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports (DPR/WPR) against the master project schedule.
• Identify bottlenecks in material supply or workforce allocation and implement corrective actions.
• Verify subcontractor measurement sheets and assist in preparation of running account (RA) bills.

4. Safety & Lifting Management:

• Enforce a zero-compromise safety culture on-site, ensuring all workforce personnel utilize appropriate PPE.
• Supervise heavy lifting operations, ensuring proper rigging plans, crane capacities, and safety clearances are verified before erection.
• Conduct daily tool-box talks regarding high-risk activities (work at height, hot work, confined spaces).
• ## Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Proven track record in heavy structural steel fabrication and erection, preferably in power plants, refineries, steel plants, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
• Technical Know-how: * Strong understanding of welding processes (SMAW, MIG/GMAW), welding defects, and structural connections.
• 
  
• Familiarity with heavy equipment deployment (hydra cranes, crawler cranes, derrick systems).
• Ability to read complex structural blueprints and GA (General Arrangement) drawings flawlessly.
• Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD; proficiency in MS Excel for progress tracking.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, grit to handle labor dynamics on-site, and clear communication skills.
