Job Description

  1. Laser Field Service Engineer – Roles & ResponsibilitiesJob Title: Laser Field Service EngineerRoles & ResponsibilitiesInstall and commission Fiber Laser Marking, Laser Welding, Laser Cleaning, and CO₂ Laser Cutting Machines at customer sites.
  2. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) as per the service schedule.
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, optical, software, and controller-related issues.
  4. Repair and replace defective components such as laser sources, galvanometer scanners, controllers, power supplies, cooling systems, and optics.
  5. Align and calibrate laser systems to ensure optimal performance.
  6. Install and configure laser software, drivers, and machine parameters.
  7. Conduct machine trials and demonstrate proper machine operation to customers.
  8. Train customers on machine operation, daily maintenance, and safety procedures.
  9. Respond promptly to customer service calls and minimize machine downtime.
  10. Prepare service reports, installation reports, and preventive maintenance checklists after every visit.
  11. Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend required spare parts to customers.
  12. Coordinate with the technical support team for complex troubleshooting.
  13. Follow all laser safety standards and company SOPs during service activities.
  14. Provide online/remote technical support whenever possible before visiting the customer site.
  15. Travel to customer locations across India for installation and service support.
  16. Maintain good customer relationships and provide professional technical assistance.
  17. Report recurring technical issues to the engineering team for product improvement.
  18. Ensure all tools, testing instruments, and company assets are properly maintained.
  19. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly service reports to the Service Manager.
  20. Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) activities.
  • Required SkillsKnowledge of Fiber Laser, CO₂ Laser, UV Laser, and Laser Welding Machines.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring, control panels, sensors, PLCs, and motion systems.
  • Experience with EZCAD, LaserCAD, CypCut, RDWorks, or similar laser software.
  • Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
