Job Description
The Project Engineer – Mechanical shall be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of pipeline and ducting installation works in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, and safety standards. The role involves coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Supervise installation of mechanical piping systems, ducting systems, and associated supports.
- Ensure execution of works as per approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to avoid interface issues.
Planning & Coordination
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Estimate manpower, material, tools, and equipment requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of materials.
- Attend project review meetings with clients, consultants, and management.
Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project quality requirements.
- Conduct inspections for fabrication, fit-up, alignment, welding, hydrotesting, and duct leakage testing.
- Maintain inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspections and approvals.
Safety Management
- Implement site safety procedures and ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe work practices.
- Identify and mitigate site hazards related to lifting, welding, confined spaces, and working at heights.
Documentation & Reporting
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and GA drawings.
- Prepare progress reports, measurement sheets, and material reconciliation statements.
- Maintain records of work completed, manpower deployment, and site activities.
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and project handover documents.
