Job Summary

We are seeking a highly proficient, experienced, and proactive Head Office Accountant to oversee and manage the centralized accounting and financial operations of our core construction company. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, ensuring statutory compliance, supervising inter-company accounting, managing banking operations, and providing timely financial reports to management.

The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience in multi-company accounting, a thorough understanding of GST and TDS compliance, strong expertise in corporate loan management, bank overdraft (OD) facilities, cash flow planning, and the ability to ensure timely servicing of EMIs, loan repayments, and statutory liabilities. The role requires exceptional organizational skills, financial discipline, analytical thinking, and the ability to coordinate effectively with auditors, bankers, consultants, and senior management.



Key Responsibilities

Multi-Company Accounting

  • Maintain complete books of accounts for the parent company and six sister concern companies.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain separate ledgers while monitoring inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper allocation of expenses, income, and project costs across entities.

GST Compliance

  • Supervise GST accounting for all group companies.
  • Review purchase and sales registers before return filing.
  • Ensure timely filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, and other applicable GST returns.
  • Reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC) with supplier filings.
  • Resolve GST notices, mismatches, and departmental queries.
  • Maintain complete GST documentation and compliance records.

TDS & Income Tax Compliance

  • Ensure accurate deduction of TDS under applicable provisions of the Income Tax Act.
  • Supervise timely deposit of TDS and filing of TDS returns.
  • Reconcile TDS payable accounts.
  • Coordinate issuance of TDS certificates.
  • Assist during income tax assessments and audits.

Banking & Corporate Finance

  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Monitor corporate loan accounts and overdraft facilities.
  • Ensure timely payment of loan EMIs, interest obligations, and debt servicing schedules.
  • Prepare fund flow and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate loan documentation, renewals, and banking compliance.
  • Monitor bank guarantees, fixed deposits, and credit facilities.

Cash Flow & Financial Planning

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure adequate liquidity for project execution and operational requirements.
  • Monitor working capital utilization.
  • Recommend strategies for efficient cash management.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Supervise vendor and subcontractor payments.
  • Review customer receivables and follow up on outstanding collections.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of debtor and creditor accounts.
  • Verify payment approvals and supporting documentation.

Financial Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare management information system (MIS) reports.
  • Present financial performance reports to senior management.
  • Monitor project profitability and cost control.
  • Prepare budget versus actual variance reports.
  • Support strategic financial decision-making through timely analysis.

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act provisions, GST laws, Income Tax regulations, labour-related financial compliances, and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate statutory, internal, GST, and tax audits.
  • Maintain proper accounting records and statutory registers.

Audit Coordination

  • Liaise with statutory auditors, tax auditors, internal auditors, and government authorities.
  • Provide financial information and supporting documentation during audits.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit observations.

Internal Controls

  • Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls.
  • Monitor compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend corrective measures.
  • Prevent accounting errors and financial irregularities.

Team Management

  • Supervise and guide the accounts team across all companies.
  • Allocate work responsibilities and monitor performance.
  • Train junior accountants on accounting standards, GST, TDS, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate with site accountants and project teams.



Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) – Mandatory.
  • M.Com, MBA (Finance), CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • At least 5 years in a construction, infrastructure, EPC, or contracting company.
  • Proven experience managing accounts for multiple companies or group entities.
  • Hands-on experience with GST, TDS, banking operations, corporate finance, and statutory compliance.

Technical Skills

  • Expert knowledge of 24 Strategic ERP, Tally Prime, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in cash flow management, loan accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with project accounting and cost centre accounting.
