Roles & Responsibilities – Plant Head

1. Plan, monitor, and control daily production to achieve customer delivery schedules.

2. Ensure optimum utilization of CNC, VMC, and other manufacturing resources.

3. Improve productivity, machine utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and overall plant efficiency.

4. Minimize machine downtime and eliminate production bottlenecks.

5. Coordinate effectively with Planning (PPC), Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, and Dispatch teams.

6. Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with customer requirements.

7. Monitor production progress and ensure strict adherence to production schedules.

8. Maintain optimum Work-in-Progress (WIP) inventory and ensure smooth production flow.

9. Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) to customers while meeting quality and quantity requirements.

10. Ensure strict adherence to customer quality standards and specifications.

11. Reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

12. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

13. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other applicable quality management systems.

14. Improve cycle times, manufacturing processes, and overall operational efficiency.

15. Drive cost reduction initiatives through process improvements, productivity enhancement, and waste elimination.

16. Control tooling costs, consumable usage, scrap generation, and manufacturing expenses.

17. Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and other continuous improvement initiatives.

18. Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance of CNC, VMC, compressors, DG sets, utilities, and other plant equipment.

19. Minimize machine breakdowns and maximize equipment availability.

20. Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance.

21. Lead and mentor production engineers, supervisors, operators, and support staff to achieve operational excellence.

22. Develop a culture of discipline, accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

23. Conduct employee performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support skill development.

24. Recruit, develop, and retain skilled manpower to meet current and future business requirements.

25. Participate in customer visits, audits, supplier audits, and technical review meetings as required.

26. Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports and production performance dashboards to management.

27. Lead New Product Development (NPD), trial production, process validation, and successful production ramp-up for new projects.

28. Monitor, analyze, and improve all key manufacturing KPIs, ensuring accurate data collection, reporting, and timely corrective actions.

29. Ensure adherence to all statutory, safety, environmental, and company policies within the plant.

30. Take complete ownership of plant operations, ensuring the achievement of production, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and people development objectives.
