Job TitleQuality Engineer
- QualificationB.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience2–5 years of experience in automotive or precision manufacturing.
Technical Knowledge & SkillsThe candidate must have hands-on experience in:
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- IATF 16949 Quality Management System (if you meant "IASO," this is likely the standard you intended)
- Core Quality Tools:FMEA
- SPC
- MSA
- Control Plan
- 8D Problem Solving
- Root Cause Analysis
- Preparation and maintenance of PPAP documentation.
- Conducting internal process and product audits.
- Customer complaint handling and CAPA implementation.
- Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Inspection using precision measuring instruments, including:
- Air Gauge
- Bore Dial Gauge
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer (Inside & Outside)
- Height Gauge
- Dial Indicator
- Plug Gauges
- Ring Gauges
- Thread Gauges
- Ability to read and interpret inspection reports.
- Basic knowledge of CMM inspection is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and submit PPAP documents to customers.
- Lead APQP activities for new product development.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using Air Gauges, Bore Dial Gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Monitor process capability and implement corrective actions.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and implement CAPA.
- Coordinate with production, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain quality records and documentation.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Preferred SkillsGood analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet customer requirements.
- Knowledge of automotive quality standards is highly preferred.
