PositionCar Service ManagerJob SummaryThe Car Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the automotive service department, ensuring high-quality vehicle repairs, excellent customer service, efficient workshop management, and achievement of business targets.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise service advisors, technicians, and support staff.Ensure timely and quality completion of vehicle servicing and repairs.Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.Handle customer complaints and resolve service-related issues.Prepare service estimates and ensure accurate billing.Maintain service records and documentation.Monitor inventory of spare parts and coordinate with the parts department.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines.Develop and implement strategies to increase service revenue and profitability.Conduct staff training and performance evaluations.Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor efficiency, service turnaround time, and customer retention.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.3–8 years of experience in automotive service operations, including supervisory experience.Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures.Proficiency in workshop management systems and MS Office.Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.Preferred SkillsTeam management and leadership.Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Customer relationship management.Budgeting and cost control.Knowledge of automotive industry standards and manufacturer processes.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Customer Satisfaction Score (CSI)Service Revenue GrowthWorkshop ProductivityFirst-Time Fix RateService Turnaround TimeCustomer Retention RateTechnician Utilization RateWorking ConditionsFull-time position.Based at automotive dealership, service center, or workshop.May require occasional weekend work during peak service periods.This JD can be customized for a dealership (e.g., Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor Company, or Tata Motors) or an independent garage.
