Job Description
Position: Fashion Designer – Handloom Project
We are looking for a creative Fashion/Textile Designer to support a Handloom Development Project. The role involves designing innovative handloom products, collaborating with artisans and weavers, conducting design workshops, and developing market-oriented textile and apparel collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create handloom-based textile and apparel designs.
- Develop color palettes, motifs, patterns, and product concepts.
- Work closely with artisans, weavers, and cluster teams.
- Conduct design training and capacity-building sessions.
- Monitor product quality and support product development.
- Utilize production insights from IoT-enabled handloom systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in handloom, textiles, handicrafts, or apparel design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of weaving techniques, textile development, and market trends.
Preferred Experience:
Handloom, handicrafts, artisan development projects, textile manufacturing, export houses, or sustainable fashion brands.
