OT Assistant

Job Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to assist patients in improving their ability to perform daily living and work-related tasks. The OTA will help implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and maintain a safe and supportive environment for rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
• Help patients improve their daily living skills, including self-care, work tasks, and leisure activities.
• Document patient progress and report findings to the supervising occupational therapist.
• Educate patients and families about home exercises and activities to enhance treatment outcomes.
• Maintain and clean therapy equipment and workspaces.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and evaluation.
• Stay current with best practices and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
