Production Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities as per production schedules and customer requirements.
• Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned timelines and available resources.
• Manage and supervise production teams, including manpower allocation and workforce planning.
• Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Purchase, Quality, Stores, Maintenance, and Dispatch departments for smooth production flow.
• Monitor production processes and identify bottlenecks, delays, and operational issues.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
• Maintain production records, reports, and performance data.
• Monitor and reduce production costs, wastage, rework, and material consumption.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Implement process improvements and lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Conduct regular production meetings and review daily/weekly/monthly production performance.
• Identify machine and manpower requirements and coordinate with management accordingly.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices within the production area.
• Handle production-related issues and take corrective and preventive actions.
• Train, guide, and develop production staff to improve performance and productivity.
• Ensure timely completion of production activities and support on-time delivery commitments.
• Prepare and submit regular production reports to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.
• Good leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of quality management and safety practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict production deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
