Job Summary

A Fitter/Turner is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, fitting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components and machinery using hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring components meet quality and safety standards.

• Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and grinders.
• Manufacture and fit metal parts and components to required tolerances.
• Perform turning, threading, boring, reaming, and machining operations.
• Assemble mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Conduct maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges.
• Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality compliance.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Required Qualifications
• ITI in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or related trade.
• Apprenticeship or relevant industrial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of machining processes and workshop practices.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring instruments.
• Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and fabrication.
