About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Material Scientist – Concrete to support the development, optimization, and quality control of printable concrete mixes for large-scale additive manufacturing applications. The selected candidate will collaborate with technology partners and internal teams to implement advanced 3D concrete printing mix designs while building and strengthening in-house material expertise. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate printable concrete mix designs for 3D printing applications.

• Conduct laboratory testing and field evaluations of concrete materials.

• Monitor and manage material quality control during printing operations.

• Assess and recommend new materials, admixtures, and construction chemicals.

• Analyze printability, buildability, workability, and strength characteristics of concrete mixes.

• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material production and testing.

• Interpret test results and translate findings into practical, scalable material solutions.

• Prepare technical reports, maintain documentation, and support continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent material performance and project success.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience or exposure in the following areas will be preferred:

• Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Technology

• Cement and Concrete Research

• Construction Chemicals

• Admixture Development

• Advanced Concrete Materials

• 3D Concrete Printing Technologies

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of concrete technology and cementitious materials.

• Familiarity with admixtures, construction chemicals, and cement chemistry.

• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and quality control procedures.

• Strong analytical and data-driven approach to material development.

• Ability to evaluate test results and implement practical material improvements.

• Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. 

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• Master’s Degree in Construction Materials, Concrete Technology, Materials Science, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline will be preferred.

• Candidates with relevant research or industry experience in cementitious materials, concrete technology, or construction chemicals will be given preference. 

Additional Requirements

• The selected candidate must possess their own vehicle for site visits and project-related travel.

• Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred.
