A normal housekeeping staff member (or cleaner) is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment, typically in hotels, offices, or private homes. Key duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, changing linens, and restocking supplies, while adhering to safety standards. [1, 2, 3]
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Cleaning & Sanitizing: Cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and corridors. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing furniture, and cleaning glass surfaces.
- Room Maintenance: Making beds, changing bed linens, and replacing used towels with fresh ones.
- Restocking: Replenishing supplies such as toiletries, drinking glasses, shampoo, and soap.
- Waste Management: Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste in designated areas.
- Reporting & Security: Reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to management.
Customer Interaction: Assisting guests or staff in a polite, professional manner and handling lost-and-found items.
