Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components, assemblies, and systems according to customer requirements and industry standards. The role involves creating 2D drawings and 3D models, conducting design calculations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting product development from concept to manufacturing.

• Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products using CAD software.
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and project scope.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with production, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure manufacturability and product quality.
• Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities.
• Conduct design modifications and engineering change management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide technical support to manufacturing teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Maintain accurate design records and documentation.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–6 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience in machine design, industrial equipment, fabrication, automotive, or manufacturing industries preferred.
• Technical Skills
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, Inventor, or NX.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Understanding of materials, tolerances, fits, and machining processes.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, fabrication, welding, and assembly design.
• Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) is an added advantage.
• Experience in BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
