Production Engineer

Job SummaryThe Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end biodiesel production process, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant operations. The role requires expertise in biodiesel manufacturing processes, including transesterification, esterification, distillation, utility management, quality control, and continuous process optimization.

• Key ResponsibilitiesProduction OperationsManage day-to-day biodiesel plant operations and ensure production targets are achieved.
• Monitor biodiesel manufacturing processes including transesterification, esterification, purification, and distillation.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, utilities, and raw materials.
• Drive process efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Process ManagementMonitor process parameters and ensure adherence to SOPs.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
• Optimize yields, recovery, and energy consumption.
• Support scale-up and commissioning of new production facilities.
• Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for product testing and process validation.
• Maintain adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and pollution control requirements.
• Maintenance & SafetyWork closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to maximize equipment uptime.
• Implement preventive maintenance plans.
• Ensure strict adherence to process safety, HSE, and operational excellence standards.
• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
• Team ManagementLead and supervise production engineers, shift in-charges, and operators.
• Develop team capabilities through training and coaching.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• MIS & ReportingPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Monitor production KPIs, consumption norms, and operational costs.
• Present plant performance metrics to management.
• Desired Candidate ProfileEducationB.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Diploma in Chemical Engineering with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
• Experience8-15 years of experience in continuous process manufacturing.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Biodiesel, Biofuel, Oleochemical, Fatty Acid, Edible Oil, Chemical, or Refinery operations.
• Experience handling large-scale production facilities preferred.
