Production Manager

About the Role

We are a growing garments manufacturing business based in Ahmedabad. We work with jobworkers across the city and are expanding our order capacity. We are looking for an experienced Production Manager who can independently manage end-to-end production & jobworker operations — from identifying new workers to quality control and on-time delivery.

This is a key leadership role. The right candidate will work directly with the mangement and be trusted to run production independently.

Key Responsibilities

•         Identify, evaluate, and induct new jobworkers (stitching units, finishing units, embroidery, etc.)

•         Negotiate rates and finalize agreements with jobworkers

•         Assign production lots to jobworkers based on capacity and specialization

•         Monitor daily output, track production against delivery schedules

•         Conduct quality checks at jobworker premises and at goods receipt

•         Handle rejection, rework, and shortfall with jobworkers professionally

•         Coordinate material dispatch (fabric, trims, accessories) to jobworkers

•         Maintain production records, daily output reports, and jobworker scorecards

•         Escalate issues to the owner only when needed; resolve routine problems independently

•         Build and maintain a reliable network of jobworkers across Ahmedabad

Required Skills & Experience

•         Minimum 5 years of experience on the garments production floor

•         Hands-on experience managing multiple jobworkers simultaneously

•         Strong knowledge of stitching processes, finishing, and garment quality standards

•         Familiarity with production planning and lot tracking

•         Ability to read and interpret job orders and production sheets

•         Good communication skills — firm but respectful with jobworkers

•         Basic knowledge of fabric types (cotton, rayon, blends) and trims

•         Two-wheeler for daily jobworker visits

Preferred

•         Prior experience in ladies wear, kids wear, or ethnic garments

•         Existing network of jobworkers in Narol, Odhav, Vatva, or surrounding areas

•         Experience with export houses or larger manufacturing units
