Job Description

  • ·        Purchase Planning & Execution: To plan and execute procurement in line with production schedules, BOMs, and project requirements ensuring zero production stoppage.
  • ·        Cost Optimization & Value Improvement: To drive cost reduction through structured negotiation, alternate sourcing, value engineering, and logistics optimization.
  • ·        Vendor Relationship & Development: To manage key vendors and develop new suppliers to improve quality, reduce dependency risks, maintain competitive pricing, and proactively suggest suitable sourcing alternatives when required.
  • ·        Process Improvement & SOP Ownership: To review, standardize, and continuously improve purchase SOPs to reduce lead time, errors, and manual dependency.
  • ·        Inventory & Stock Monitoring: To coordinate with stores and production teams to monitor stock levels, control inventory, and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • ·        Quality & Cross-Functional Coordination: To work closely with QC, production, planning, and design teams to resolve quality issues and support right-first-time procurement.
  • ·        Vendor Performance Management: To track and improve vendor performance on quality, delivery, and responsiveness through structured reviews and corrective actions.
  • ·        Logistics & Transportation Optimization: To reduce landed cost through transporter negotiation, route consolidation, and optimized delivery planning.
  • ·        Market Intelligence & Cost Forecasting: To monitor market trends, raw material price movements, and supplier dynamics for proactive decision-making.
  • ·        MIS & Management Reporting: To prepare analytical MIS including cost savings, vendor performance, risk exposure, and open order status for management review.
  • ·        Team Guidance & Capability Building: To mentor junior purchase staff, build process ownership, and strengthen the overall purchase function.
  • ·        Governance & Compliance: To ensure ethical procurement, audit readiness, and adherence to company policies and statutory requirements.
  • ·        Any other duties: Responsibilities assigned by management aligned with procurement excellence and organizational goals.
