Job Description: Sales Engineer

 

Position Overview:

 

A Project Sales Engineer is responsible for driving project-based sales by combining technical expertise with strong business development skills. The role involves identifying project opportunities, providing technical solutions, preparing proposals and coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.      Business Development and Lead Generation

 

·        Identifying and pursue new opportunities in targeted industries

·        Meet architect, Interior designers, contractors, MEP consultants, builders and end client

·        Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitors and projects pipelines.

 

2.      Technical Support and Design Solution

 

·        Understand client requirements and propose suitable technical solutions.

·        Prepare technical submissions, BOQ, drawings and compliance documentation.

·        Conduct product presentation, demos and site assessments

 

3.      Sales and Proposal Management

 

·        Prepare and submit commercial offers, quotations and tender documents.

·        Negotiate prices, terms and conditions with clients and partners.

·        Track and follow up on proposals to convert leads into confirmed orders.

 

4.      Project Coordination

 

·        Coordinate with engineering, design and project execution teams to ensure correct delivery.

·        Attend site meetings with architects, consultants, contractors and client.

·        Ensure timely submission of documents (submittals, approvals, invoices etc.).

 

5.      Customer Relationship Management

 

·        Maintain long-term relationship with key clients, consultants and contractors.

·        Provide after sales technical support when needed.

·        Resolves customer query and ensure high satisfaction levels.


6.      Reporting & Documentation

 

·        Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts and project status.

·        Prepare periodic sales reports for management review.

·        Update CRM systems with leads, opportunities and progress.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

Educational Requirements:

 

·        Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

 

Technical Skills:

 

·        Good understanding of engineering systems (MEP, HVAC, water systems, industrial equipment, etc.)

·        Ability to read drawings, specifications and BOQs.

·        Hands-on knowledge on AutoCAD (preferred).

 

Sales & Soft Skills:

 

·        Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

·        Ability to build relationships with consultants, architect and contractors.

·        Project management and time management abilities.

·        Problem-solving mindsets with customer focus.

 

Experience:

 

·        1-3 years of experience in technical sales, project sales, MEP equipment sales or industrial/engineering products.

·        Experience in tendering, BOQ preparation, and working with consultants is a plus.
