Technical Expertise in Civil Works:
Prepare cost estimates for foundational work, structural components, and ancillary civil works specific to infra projects like ports, airports, and data centers.
Evaluate new trends in civil construction, such as prefabrication or alternative materials, for potential cost and time savings.

Costing Methodologies:
Apply unit-rate analysis and zero-based costing to generate accurate estimates for civil construction activities.
Incorporate variations in material and labor costs based on project location and market conditions.

Risk Analysis and Mitigation:
Identify and evaluate risks, such as labor shortages, unexpected site conditions, and material price escalations, that could impact project costs.
Recommend contingency allocations to safeguard project budgets against unforeseen risks.

Market Intelligence:
Monitor market trends in construction materials, labor costs, and contractor capabilities to inform estimation decisions.
Research advancements in construction technologies, such as precast concrete systems and automated equipment, for potential cost and efficiency benefits.
Build and maintain a repository of market intelligence for civil construction components, including regional variations in material pricing and labor rates, to support accurate and competitive estimations.

Vendor Interaction:
Maintain relationships with material suppliers to gather competitive rates for key construction items like cement, aggregates, and steel.
Benchmark vendor rates against internal cost data to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Technical Document Interpretation:
Interpret architectural and structural drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications to develop precise cost estimates.
Coordinate with design and engineering teams to clarify ambiguities in provided documents.

Integration Across Disciplines:
Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, and C&I teams to ensure civil works align seamlessly with other disciplines.
Provide input for shared activities such as trenching, foundation works, and utility provisions.

Software Proficiency:
Use Candy Software for civil project estimations and Primavera for project planning and scheduling.
Update internal databases with recent cost trends and vendor inputs for future reference.

Estimation Precision:
Conduct quality checks on civil estimates to ensure alignment with project requirements and internal benchmarks.
Provide detailed breakdowns and justifications for civil cost components to support procurement negotiations.
Review past projects to identify trends and improve the accuracy of current estimates.

Project Monitoring and Validation:
Participate in field inspections to verify that Civil constructions align with estimated specifications.
Provide technical support during installation and commissioning to validate assumptions.
Work with contractors and vendors to ensure alignment with internal cost benchmarks.

Post-Estimation Review:
Conduct variance analysis between estimated and actual costs to refine future estimation practices.
Document insights and update cost estimation methodologies based on review outcomes.

Educational Background:
B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Work Experience:
7+ years of experience in civil estimation for infrastructure projects, including ports, airports, and industrial facilities.

Industry Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of civil construction practices, material standards, and zero-based costing methodologies. Proficiency in tools like Candy and Primavera for cost modeling and scheduling.
