Job Summary

A Turner in a pharma machine part manufacturing company is responsible for operating conventional or CNC lathe machines to manufacture precision components used in pharmaceutical machinery. The role requires maintaining dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and compliance with engineering drawings and GMP-oriented manufacturing standards.

• Key Responsibilities
• Operate conventional lathe, CNC lathe, and related machining equipment.
• Manufacture machine parts such as shafts, bushes, rollers, sleeves, nozzles, fittings, and precision pharma equipment components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Perform turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, knurling, and taper operations.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments like:

1. Vernier caliper
2. Micrometer
3. Bore gauge
4. Dial indicator
5. Height gauge

• Ensure smooth surface finish and precision tolerance as per pharma machinery standards.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
• Conduct machine setup and minor troubleshooting.
• Inspect finished components for quality compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow safety and GMP practices in the production area.
• Coordinate with quality and maintenance departments when required.
• Record production and inspection data.
• Required Skills
• Knowledge of lathe machine operations.
• Understanding of machine drawings and tolerances.
• Familiarity with stainless steel machining.
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming is an advantage.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures.
• Educational Qualification
• ITI Turner / Machinist
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Experience
• Fresher to 5 years in machine shop or pharma equipment manufacturing.
• Experience in precision machining preferred.
