Job Summary
The CMM Inspection Engineer will be responsible for dimensional inspection of components and assemblies using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other precision measuring instruments in accordance with Dana India drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role includes inspection execution, report preparation, documentation, and ensuring timely submission of inspection results while maintaining complete traceability.
- Key ResponsibilitiesConduct dimensional inspection of parts and assemblies as per Dana India drawings, specifications, and quality standards within the defined timelines.
- Perform inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) with Hexagon PC-DMIS software.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, balloon drawings, inspection plans, and customer specifications.
- Carry out inspections using precision measuring equipment such as:
- CMM
- Contour Measuring Machine
- Profile Projector
- Height Gauge
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Indicators
- Thread Gauges, Plug Gauges, Ring Gauges, and other inspection gauges.
- Verify dimensional accuracy and identify any deviations from specified requirements.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports for each inspected batch/lot, including:
- Measurement results
- Non-conformities/deviations
- Visual inspection observations
- Supporting evidence where required
- Ensure all inspection reports comply with Dana India's reporting formats and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Third-Party Supervisor for review and validation of inspection reports.
- Submit finalized inspection reports to the designated Dana India Quality Representative within the agreed timelines.
- Maintain complete traceability and documentation for all inspections and reports.
- Ensure measuring instruments are calibrated and used in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Follow all safety, quality, and confidentiality requirements during inspection activities.
- Support investigation of dimensional non-conformities whenever required.
