Structural Design Engineer

SolidWorks & AutoCAD Designer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CAD Designer proficient in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks. In this role, you will create detailed 2D production layouts and advanced 3D models for manufacturing, engineering, and product development projects. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure that all blueprints and digital designs are accurate, cost-effective, and fully compliant with global industry standards

• Key Responsibilities
• Drafting & Layouts: Create and revise precise 2D technical drawings, plant layouts, and electrical or structural schematics using AutoCAD. 
• 3D Modeling & Assemblies: Build, modify, and optimize complex 3D parts, large assemblies, and digital prototypes using SolidWorks. 
• Production Standards: Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to engineering drawings to specify exact manufacturing limits. 
• Documentation Management: Generate comprehensive BOMs (Bill of Materials), part lists, and technical data packages required for purchasing and fabrication. 
• Design Validation: Run basic finite element analysis (FEA) or stress simulations in SolidWorks to test part strength and functionality before prototyping. 
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate directly with factory floor managers, toolmakers, and clients to troubleshoot design issues and adjust blueprints. 
• Revision Control: Maintain an organized, up-to-date digital archive of engineering drawings through an established revision control protocol.  
• Core RequirementsEducation: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Design, or Draftsmanship.
• Software Mastery: Proven advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, sheet metal design, weldments) and AutoCAD (2D drafting, layer control).
• Blueprints Literacy: The absolute ability to easily read, interpret, and translate complex technical blueprints or hand sketches into clean CAD files.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of production methodologies like sheet metal forming, CNC machining, welding, and injection molding.
• Precision and Focus: Sharp attention to microscopic details to catch errors before parts go to the assembly floor.
• Preferred QualificationsProfessional certification from Autodesk or a Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP) credential.
• Prior experience utilizing product lifecycle management (PLM) or enterprise resource planning (ERP/SAP) systems.
• Experience specific to the target industry (e.g., sheet metal fabrication, industrial equipment, automotive tools, or HVAC systems).
