Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer (Business Development) will be responsible for driving revenue growth, commercial expansion, strategic partnerships, leasing, branding, business alliances, and overall profitability of the Company.
The COO will lead all business development initiatives, identify new revenue opportunities, strengthen relationships with government authorities, fuel companies, hospitality brands, logistics operators, vendors, and commercial partners, and ensure maximum monetization of all project assets.
Reporting To:Chairman.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & REVENUE GROWTH
Commercial Growth Strategy
· Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve targeted revenue growth.
· Identify new business opportunities across all project verticals.
· Create and implement annual and quarterly business expansion plans.
· Build sustainable revenue streams across fuel, food, hospitality, logistics, parking, and commercial spaces.
· Drive 10–15% monthly revenue growth through strategic initiatives.
Occupancy & Commercial Leasing
· Maximize occupancy of dormitories, commercial outlets, food spaces, and truck facilities.
· Identify and onboard premium brands, franchise partners, and commercial tenants.
· Negotiate leasing agreements and commercial contracts.
· Ensure optimum utilization of available commercial spaces.
New Revenue Generation
· Develop secondary revenue streams through advertising rights, promotional activities, event hosting, sponsorships, and premium services.
· Explore opportunities for EV charging partnerships, logistics partnerships, retail kiosks, and travel convenience services.
· Introduce cross-selling and bundled service offerings.
B. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & ALLIANCES
Business Networking
· Build strong relationships with fuel companies, logistics operators, fleet owners, transport associations, tourism operators, and hospitality brands.
· Develop strategic partnerships that increase footfall and business opportunities.
Corporate & Institutional Business
· Develop tie-ups with corporate houses, transport companies, fleet operators, and government agencies.
· Generate long-term contracts and recurring business opportunities.
· Establish strategic collaborations with tourism and travel organizations.
Government & Stakeholder Liaison
· Liaison with Government, Semi-Government Authorities, Fuel Companies, Local Bodies, and Regulatory Authorities.
· Maintain strong stakeholder relationships for smooth business growth.
· Represent the organization in industry meetings, conferences, and networking forums.
C. MARKETING & BRAND DEVELOPMENT
Brand Visibility
· Develop highway branding strategies to establish strong market presence.
· Increase visibility through signage, promotions, and strategic branding initiatives.
Marketing Initiatives
· Lead digital marketing and promotional campaigns.
· Increase footfall through targeted marketing activities.
· Build strategic collaborations with travel portals, tourism operators, influencers, and digital platforms.
· Strengthen social media presence and customer engagement.
Customer Acquisition
· Develop customer acquisition strategies for all business verticals.
· Increase repeat visits through loyalty programs and relationship-building initiatives.
· Create targeted campaigns for truck operators, fleet owners, tourists, and highway travelers.
D. VENDOR, PARTNER & TENANT MANAGEMENT
· Develop and manage relationships with vendors, tenants, franchise partners, and commercial operators.
· Negotiate commercial agreements and business terms.
· Monitor partner performance and revenue contribution.
· Ensure mutually beneficial long-term business relationships.
· Identify new partners and brands for business expansion.
E. FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE & PROFITABILITY
· Drive revenue maximization across all project verticals.
· Monitor business performance against growth targets.
· Analyze business trends, market opportunities, and competitor activities.
· Improve profitability through commercial optimization strategies.
· Develop and track business development KPIs and growth metrics.
F. TEAM LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
· Build and lead a high-performance business development team.
· Establish clear sales and business growth targets.
· Implement performance-based incentive structures.
· Drive accountability, ownership, and result-oriented culture.
· Conduct periodic business reviews and performance evaluations.
G. REPORTING & REVIEW
· Maintain daily revenue and business development dashboards.
· Conduct weekly business growth review meetings.
· Present monthly business performance reports to Management.
· Track occupancy, leasing status, partnership pipeline, footfall trends, and revenue growth.
· Submit quarterly business expansion and growth plans.
