Department / Floor Manager

A factory floor supervisor serves as the vital link between frontline assembly workers and upper management. They oversee daily manufacturing operations, enforce strict safety and quality standards, and coordinate employee schedules to consistently meet production quotas.

Core Responsibilities

• Workforce Management: Assign daily tasks to operators, manage shift schedules/breaks, and train new staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Production Oversight: Track workflow against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure the facility meets targeted production volumes within budget constraints.
• Quality Control: Monitor products on the line to ensure they meet strict company quality standards and perform preliminary troubleshooting for defects.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA or local regulatory safety guidelines, oversee the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean shop floor.
• Equipment Maintenance: Identify machine malfunctions, coordinate repairs with maintenance teams, and minimize assembly line downtime.
• Reporting: Document and report daily output, machine performance, and employee attendance to the Production Manager .

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Leadership: Ability to motivate production teams, mediate conflicts, and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and quality assurance tools.
• Communication: Clear, concise communication to relay management objectives to frontline workers and vice versa.

Education & Experience: Typically requires a High School Diploma or an associate's/bachelor's degree in manufacturing or operations, combined with 2-5 years of hands-on factory experience.
