CNC Programmer

The role demands strong proficiency in ESPRIT and/or SolidCAM, along with excellent knowledge of cutting tools, machining strategies, and process optimization for precision engineering industries such as Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Medical components.

• CAM Programming & Process PlanningDevelop, simulate, and optimize CNC programs using:
• ESPRIT (preferred for Sliding Head / Swiss machines)
• SolidCAM / SolidWorks CAM
• Generate programs for:
• Sliding Head (Swiss-type) machines (e.g., Tornos, Citizen, Star)
• CNC Turn-Mill / Mill-Turn centers (multi-axis)
• VMC (3-axis / 4-axis machining)
• Create process sheets, setup sheets, and tooling layouts
• Plan complete machining strategy from raw material to finished component 

• Machining of Critical ComponentsHandle tight tolerance parts (±5–10 microns)
• Machine complex geometries including:
• Thin-wall components
• Micro-machining parts
• Multi-operation turned-milled parts
• Ensure compliance with GD&T, surface finish, and functional requirements
• 🔹 Cutting Tool & Machining ExpertiseSelect and optimize:
• Cutting tools (carbide, coated inserts, micro tools)
• Tool holders and workholding solutions
• Optimize:
• Feeds & speeds
• Tool life and tool path strategies
• Cycle time reduction
• Work closely with tooling suppliers for advanced solutions
• 🔹 Machine Setup & Production SupportSupport machine setup and prove-out (first-off development)
• Fine-tune programs on machine to achieve optimal performance
• Troubleshoot issues like:
• Tool wear / breakage
• Vibration / chatter
• Dimensional variation
• Ensure smooth transition from development to batch production
• 🔹 Quality & DocumentationInterpret engineering drawings with GD&T standards
• Work closely with QA team for:
• First Article Inspection (FAI)
• In-process inspection planning
• Maintain proper documentation:
• Program backups
• Revision control
• Process improvement records
• Required Skills & Experience5–12 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming
• Strong experience in:
• Sliding Head / Swiss-type machines
• CNC Turn-Mill (multi-axis)
• VMC machining
• Advanced proficiency in:
• ESPRIT (must for Swiss-type programming)
• SolidCAM / SolidWorks CAM
• Deep knowledge of machining materials:
• Stainless Steel (300 / 400 series)
• Aluminium alloys
• Brass (free machining grades)
• Titanium / exotic alloys (preferred)
• Technical CompetenciesStrong understanding of:
• GD&T and tolerance stack-up
• Multi-axis machining strategies
• Sub-spindle / guide bush / non-guide bush operations
• Ability to optimize complex programs for:
• Multi-channel synchronization (Swiss machines)
• Reduced cycle time and improved productivity
• Familiarity with post-processors and machine kinematics
• Preferred QualificationsDiploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with machines like:
• Tornos (DT13, GT26)
• Citizen / Star Swiss machines
• Exposure to Aerospace standards and documentation
• Knowledge of 5-axis machining (added advantage)
