Deputy General Manager - Electrical - projects
Roles and Responsibilities- Project Leadership and Management: Lead electrical engineering activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, quality, and safety standards.
- Electrical System Design & Review: Oversee the design, engineering, and technical reviews of electrical systems, including power generation, transmission, distribution, protection, and control systems to meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Execution & Commissioning: Manage end-to-end electrical project execution, ensuring installation, testing, and commissioning activities are completed with high quality and adherence to industry standards.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors, vendors, regulatory authorities, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the project team, aligning with Adani’s core values.
- Cost Control & Resource Management: Monitor electrical project budgets, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.
- Technical Leadership & Innovation: Drive technical innovations and continuous improvement initiatives by staying abreast of emerging electrical engineering technologies and industry best practices.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing electrical engineering team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, accountability, and collaboration.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical and project risks through proactive planning, contingency measures, and regular progress reviews.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all electrical engineering activities including design documents, progress reports, test reports, and compliance certificates.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Evaluate and manage vendors and subcontractors for electrical works to ensure quality deliverables and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Alignment with Corporate Strategy: Support Adani’s business goals by ensuring all electrical project activities contribute to the company’s sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and reputation as an industry leader.
- Expert knowledge of electrical power systems including generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools such as ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, and PLC programming.
- Deep understanding of electrical standards and codes (IEEE, IEC, NEC).
- Experience with HV and LV equipment, switchgear, transformers, and protective relays.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and automation in power plants.
- Competency in interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong grasp on commissioning procedures and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Leadership in managing large-scale electrical power projects.
- Expertise in electrical system design and execution within the power/energy sector.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from a recognized university.
18-22 years of extensive experience in electrical engineering roles within the power/energy industry, preferably with demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale electrical projects from conceptualization to commissioning.
