Position Title: Barista

Reports to: Store Manager

Job Purpose

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, ensuring food safety standards, handling cash transactions, and creating a welcoming café experience for customers.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Service - Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, professional service experience.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Recommend beverages, food items, and promotions to customers.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.

• Beverage & Food Preparation:
• Prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and other beverages according to café standards.
• Prepare and serve food items as per established procedures.
• Ensure consistency in product quality, presentation, and taste.
• Monitor ingredient freshness and report shortages.

• Operations & Hygiene
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, seating area, and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
• Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment.

• Cash Handling
• Process customer payments accurately using POS systems.
• Handle cash, card, and digital payment transactions.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and reconcile cash as required.

• Teamwork
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth café operations.
• Support colleagues during busy periods.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.

• Qualifications
• High school or equivalent.
• Barista training or certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or customer service environment is an advantage.

• Skills & Competencies
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and café operations.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic cash handling and POS system knowledge.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

• Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 15–20 kg.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
