Hardware & Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Program Manager – Networking & CCTV is responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of Networking, Wi-Fi, CCTV, Firewall, Access Control, and IT Infrastructure projects. The role includes managing project operations, field engineers, customer relationships, vendor coordination, project profitability, quality, and service delivery while ensuring projects are completed within the agreed timeline, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Plan, execute, monitor, and successfully deliver multiple networking and CCTV projects.
• Prepare project implementation schedules and deployment plans.
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure projects are completed within the approved budget and schedule.
• Monitor project progress and resolve implementation challenges.
• Conduct project kick-off, review, and closure meetings.
• Ensure timely project handover with customer sign-off.

2. Daily Operations Management

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Networking, CCTV, Wi-Fi, Firewall, and IT Infrastructure teams.
• Prepare daily work plans and assign engineers based on priority, skill set, and project requirements.
• Allocate manpower efficiently across projects and service calls.
• Ensure engineers report to customer sites as scheduled.
• Monitor job completion status throughout the day.
• Review pending tasks and plan daily priorities.
• Ensure optimum utilization of engineers and field resources.

3. Engineer Management

• Lead, mentor, and supervise field engineers and technicians.
• Assign daily installation, configuration, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and support activities.
• Conduct daily team meetings to review work status and priorities.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
• Review Daily Activity Reports (DAR) submitted by engineers.
• Track engineer performance against KPIs.
• Identify training needs and conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Resolve technical escalations faced by field engineers.
• Ensure engineers follow company SOPs and safety guidelines.

4. Service Operations

• Manage installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, breakdown support, and AMC services.
• Monitor service requests and ensure timely closure.
• Ensure SLA commitments are achieved.
• Review unresolved service tickets and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency support whenever required.

5. Customer Relationship Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers during project execution.
• Conduct regular customer review meetings.
• Understand customer expectations and ensure timely communication.
• Resolve customer concerns and escalations.
• Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Obtain work completion certificates and project sign-offs.

6. Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with the Presales, Design, Procurement, and Support teams.
• Review network diagrams, CCTV layouts, rack layouts, and BOQs.
• Validate technical solutions before implementation.
• Ensure installations comply with OEM best practices and customer requirements.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

7. Vendor & OEM Management

• Coordinate with OEMs for technical support and escalations.
• Track procurement and material delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and installation partners.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and licenses.
• Manage warranty and RMA cases.

8. Resource Planning

• Plan manpower requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Allocate engineers, vehicles, tools, and test equipment.
• Coordinate with stores for material issuance and returns.
• Monitor inventory issued to engineers.
• Optimize resource utilization across multiple projects.

9. Financial & Commercial Management

• Monitor project budgets and profitability.
• Track project costs and control unnecessary expenses.
• Validate purchase requests related to projects.
• Coordinate with the finance team for milestone billing.
• Monitor customer payments and outstanding invoices.
• Review project variations and change requests.
• Ensure timely project invoicing.

10. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review daily engineer reports and site reports.
• Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Project Status Reports.
• Maintain installation reports, test reports, as-built drawings, and completion certificates.
• Submit management reports on project progress, risks, and resource utilization.
• Ensure all project documents are properly archived.

11. Quality Assurance

• Ensure installation quality as per company and OEM standards.
• Conduct periodic site inspections.
• Verify testing and commissioning before customer handover.
• Ensure compliance with quality checklists.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions.

12. Risk Management

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Monitor resource shortages and material delays.
• Escalate critical issues to management.
• Develop contingency plans for project continuity.

13. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with customer safety policies.
• Monitor adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines.
• Ensure proper usage of PPE by field engineers.
• Maintain statutory and project compliance documentation.

14. Continuous Improvement

• Improve project execution processes.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Recommend automation and productivity improvements.
• Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
• Experience with CCTV, NVR/DVR, IP Cameras, Access Control, and Structured Cabling.
• Knowledge of Firewalls, VPNs, Switching, Routing, and Wireless technologies.
• Strong project planning and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in Networking, CCTV, IT Infrastructure, or System Integration.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing project teams and customer-facing implementations.
