Job Description
Job Title: Operations Executive – Motor Policy Issuance
Department: Operations
Industry: General Insurance
Location: Rajajinagar, Bangalore
Reports to: Operations Manager / Branch Manager
Job Purpose:
To handle end-to-end issuance of motor insurance policies, ensure timely data entry, documentation, and customer support, and coordinate with internal teams and underwriters to ensure accurate and efficient policy processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Issuance:
- Process new motor insurance policy issuance in the system (OD + TP or bundled).
- Verify and validate proposal forms, documents, and premium payments before issuance.
- Ensure policy issuance within the defined turnaround time (TAT).
- Data Entry & Documentation:
- Accurate entry of customer, vehicle, and premium data in the system.
- Maintain physical and digital records of all issued policies and proposals.
- Customer Coordination:
- Coordinate with agents/customers for missing documents or payment clarifications.
- Provide support for policy-related queries and endorsements.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal underwriting guidelines.
- Monitor issued policies for errors and initiate rectification through endorsements if needed.
- MIS & Reporting:
- Maintain daily reports of issued policies, cancellations, endorsements, etc.
- Share periodic updates with the reporting manager or central operations.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of motor insurance products (Private Car, Two-Wheeler, CV, etc.)
- Basic understanding of IRDAI guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and policy issuance software
- Time management and multitasking
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline (Commerce/Management preferred)
- Insurance certification (like IC38, Licentiate) is an added advantage
