CWC Services (OPC) Private Limited is a specialist professional services firm delivering end-to-end statutory and labour law compliance management across India. We advise growth-stage start-ups, mid-market enterprises and established corporates on EPF, ESIC, Professional Tax, LWF, S&E Act, CLRA, Factories Act, BOCW and India’s four Labour Codes — covering registrations, monthly filings, audits, inspections, departmental representation and advisory.

We are expanding our Compliance Operations team and are looking for Compliance Associates with hands-on working knowledge of EPF, ESI and Professional Tax workings and a strong grounding in labour laws applicable PAN India.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Filings & Portal Operations

•      Prepare and file monthly ECR on the EPFO Unified Portal; generate and reconcile PF challans (A/c 01, 02, 10, 21, 22); handle KYC, UAN activation, member exits and Form 11 validations.

•      File monthly ESIC contributions on the ESIC portal; manage IP registrations, family declarations, Form 37, and ensure coverage is accurate when gross wages cross the ₹21,000 ceiling.

•      File Professional Tax returns and remit challans across states (Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, etc.) — distinguishing PTEC and PTRC obligations.

•      File Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) contributions in applicable states on half-yearly / annual cycles as per state rules.

•      Manage client registrations, amendments and renewals under Shops & Establishments Act, Contract Labour (R&A) Act, Factories Act and BOCW where applicable.

Payroll & Wage Compliance

•      Review client payroll inputs and validate statutory deduction workings for EPF, ESI, PT and LWF; reconcile monthly liability vs. actual remittance.

•      Assist in CTC structuring and wage break-up reviews aligned with Section 2(y) of the Code on Wages, 2019 — including the 50% allowance ceiling test.

•      Flag coverage edge cases (PF wage ceiling, ESI threshold, International Workers, Fixed-Term Employment, contractor vs. employee classification) to the Consultant / Manager.

Client Communication & Documentation

•      Respond to client queries within defined TAT in a clear, precise and professional tone consistent with CWC’s advisory standards.

•      Maintain compliance calendars, client trackers and evidence repositories (challans, returns, acknowledgments) in an audit-ready format.

•      Draft formal correspondence — compliance alerts, due-date reminders, monthly compliance reports and MIS — for assigned clients.

Authority Correspondence & Inspections

•      Support seniors in responding to notices, show-cause letters and inspection queries from EPFO (RPFC / APFC), ESIC, Labour Department, Inspector of Factories and state Labour Welfare Boards.

•      Compile documentary evidence, prepare draft replies and coordinate departmental visits where required.

Knowledge Management & Advisory Support

•      Track updates from EPFO, ESIC, Ministry of Labour & Employment, state Labour Departments and relevant gazette notifications.

•      Assist seniors in drafting advisory notes on Labour Code implementation, state rules and client-specific impact assessments.

Technical Competencies — Must Have

•      EPF: Working knowledge of ECR file preparation and upload, PF challan generation, 12% / 12% split (A/c 01, 10), A/c 02, 21, 22 components, PF wage ceiling of ₹15,000, KYC / UAN / exit handling, Form 11, Form 19/10C/10D basics, and International Workers compliance.

•      ESIC: ESI coverage rules (10+ employees threshold; ₹21,000 gross wage ceiling), 3.25% employer / 0.75% employee contribution, monthly contribution filing, IP registration, Form 37, accident reports and dispensary mapping.

•      Professional Tax: State-wise slabs, due dates and filing mechanics across major states; PTEC vs. PTRC registration distinction; handling of employee transfers between states.

•      Labour Codes & Laws (PAN India): Understanding of the four Labour Codes — Code on Wages, 2019; Industrial Relations Code, 2020; Code on Social Security, 2020; Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code, 2020 — and the corresponding existing statutes still in force (Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, EPF Act, ESI Act, Factories Act, CLRA, S&E Acts, BOCW, etc.).

•      State-Specific Compliance: Familiarity with state S&E Acts, LWF, PT and minimum wage notifications; ability to navigate multi-state client portfolios.

•      Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel (lookups, pivots, logical / text functions, structured workbooks) for payroll and compliance computation. Working familiarity with EPFO Unified Portal, ESIC portal and state PT / LWF portals.

Good to Have

•      Exposure to handling EPFO / ESIC inspections and departmental hearings.

•      Experience working with payroll software (GreytHR, Keka, Zoho Payroll, Darwinbox, SAP SuccessFactors, etc.).

•      Drafting experience in formal legal / departmental correspondence.

•      Exposure to client onboarding, compliance audits and due-diligence support.

Qualifications

•      B.Com / M.Com / MBA (HR) / LLB / MSW with Labour Law specialisation — or equivalent.

•      1 – 3 years of relevant experience with a consulting / compliance firm, payroll services provider, or in-house HR compliance team.

•      Candidates with certifications in Labour Laws, Payroll or Industrial Relations will be preferred.

Skills & Attributes

•      Strong attention to detail and a zero-tolerance mindset for filing errors and missed due dates.

•      Ability to manage multiple client deliverables across a defined monthly compliance calendar.

•      Clear written and verbal communication — professional tone suited to a B2B advisory environment.

•      Ownership orientation — willing to own a client portfolio end-to-end under senior supervision.

•      Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll and employee data.

What We Offer

•      Direct exposure to a diverse client portfolio across industries and states — full-spectrum compliance, not siloed roles.

•      Mentorship from senior consultants with deep subject-matter expertise in labour codes and statutory compliance.

•      Structured learning on Labour Code transition, state-specific rules and regulatory updates.

•      A clear growth pathway into Senior Associate, Consultant and Client Lead positions.

•      Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and domain depth.
