Job Description
Job Title: Stores Manager
Location: Bangalore
Reports To: Head of Production
Team Size: 3 direct reports
Job Purpose
Ensure uninterrupted material availability for production through disciplined inventory management, efficient procurement, vendor development, and ERP-driven store operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control
· Manage receipt, storage, and issue of materials and finished goods
· Maintain accurate stock records in ERP
· Define and monitor minimum and reorder levels
· Prevent stock-outs and overstocking
· Track slow-moving and obsolete inventory
· Conduct periodic physical stock audits
Procurement & Vendor Management
· Source materials and negotiate pricing
· Develop alternate vendors for critical items
· Monitor vendor lead times and performance
· Reduce procurement costs through negotiation and planning
· Ensure timely purchase to avoid production delays
· Track vendor commitments and proactively coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of ordered items
Team Management
· Supervise store staff and allocate responsibilities
· Ensure discipline and process adherence
· Train team on ERP and store procedures
Systems & Process Improvement
· Drive ERP-based store transactions
· Standardize and improve store processes
· Generate reports on stock accuracy, aging, and procurement metrics
Compliance & Safety
· Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory norms
· Maintain proper documentation for audits
· Enforce safety standards in the store
Key Performance Indicators
· ≥98% stock accuracy
· Zero production stoppage due to material shortage
· Reduction in inventory holding cost
· Reduction in obsolete stock
· Timely and accurate GRN entries
· Zero major audit non-conformities
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in store management in manufacturing
· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree preferred
· ERP experience preferred
Skills
· Strong organizational and leadership skills
· Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
· ERP familiarity preferred
· Strong negotiation ability
· Ability to work under production pressure
· Fluency in Kannada and English; Ability to communicate in Hindi preferred but not mandatory
· Ability to document work in English
