Role: Mechanical Assembly Fitter – Machine Manufacturing, Robotics & Automation

Job Description:

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter at an SPM/Automation Machine

Manufacturing company located in Bengaluru.

The Mechanical Assembly Fitter will be responsible for assembling complete machines and

sub-assemblies used in automation, robotics, leak testing, conveyor systems, pneumatic &

hydraulic systems. The candidate must understand engineering drawings, fit-up methods,

alignment techniques, machine assembly standards, and perform machine trials & prove-outs.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble SPM machines, automation systems, robotic fixtures, jigs, gauges, press machines,

pick-and-place units, and conveyors.

• Fit and assemble LM rails, bearings, bushes, shafts, guides.

• Install pneumatic cylinders, FRLs, valves, tubing, fittings (FESTO / SMC / Pneumax).

• Install hydraulic cylinders, hoses, valves, and power pack components.

• Install motors, gearboxes, couplings, pulleys, and ball screws.

• Read and interpret 2D drawings & 3D models for assembly.

• Perform alignment, levelling, backlash setting, and stroke adjustments.

• Support machine dry-run, prove-out, and troubleshooting.

• Follow safety and quality inspection standards using gauges and measuring tools.

• Support installation and commissioning at customer sites.

Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field.

Experience:

• 3–8 years experience in SPM assembly, automation machine building, or robotics assembly.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, drilling, tapping, alignment, and precision assembly.

• Experience with pneumatic systems (FESTO, SMC), hydraulic cylinders, linear motion

components (Hiwin, THK), and mechanical drives.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during machine trials.

• Basic electrical/PLC integration knowledge is an advantage.

Soft Skills:

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Good problem-solving ability.

• Willingness to travel for machine installation.
