Architect

Architects plan and design buildings, and ensure that they are safe, functional, and meet the needs of the public. They work on new builds, renovations, and building expansions. 

Responsibilities

• Planning and design: Create detailed plans, including specifications, sketches, and drawings 
• Client consultation: Discuss ideas, costs, timelines, and materials with clients 
• Construction: Manage construction projects, including supervising construction and visiting sites to check on progress 
• Safety and regulations: Ensure that plans meet building codes, safety regulations, and budgets 
• Collaboration: Work with engineers and contractors to develop concepts and meet project goals 
• Technical advice: Provide technical and aesthetic advice on the design of infrastructures 
• Costing: Estimate costs and budgets for investors 
• Contract management: Manage contracts 

Architects need to have a combination of architectural expertise and communication skills. They are involved at every phase of a project, from initial planning to the final construction.
