Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Epicure Robotics builds autonomous food and beverage kiosks (TSB and ZOE) deployed across live commercial sites. We are looking for an Electrical Assembly Technician / Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Bangalore. You will be responsible for assembling and wiring the electrical control units (ECUs) that power our kiosks, routing harnesses inside the machine, soldering and testing components, and verifying the complete electrical system before deployment.
This is a hands-on bench and shop-floor role. Your work goes directly into live machines. You will own your assembly station, follow wiring standards, and be the last line of quality assurance before a kiosk leaves the floor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ECU Assembly
- Assemble electrical control units (ECUs) by mounting PCBs, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, DIN rail components, and power supplies inside enclosures
- Follow ECU layout drawings and BOM to position and secure all components correctly
- Install MCBs, fuses, and protection devices per circuit design
- Label all components, terminals, and wiring points clearly as per documentation
- Verify physical assembly against the reference layout before powering up
Wiring & Harness Routing
- Route and dress wiring harnesses inside the ECU enclosure and throughout the kiosk machine
- Crimp, terminate, and connect wire ends to terminals, connectors, and PCB headers correctly
- Route cables through conduit, grommets, cable trays, and tie points neatly and safely
- Ensure correct wire gauge, colour coding, and ferrule usage per wiring standards
Soldering & Component Work
- Perform through-hole and surface-mount soldering on PCBs as required
- Solder connectors, terminals, and wire leads to boards with clean, inspection-ready joints
- Rework and repair solder joints flagged during inspection or testing
- Replace or swap faulty components on boards under guidance from the engineering team
Component & Sub-Assembly Testing
- Test individual components before installation: relays, solenoid valves, sensors, fans, and power supplies
- Verify continuity, insulation resistance, and correct phasing on wired assemblies using multimeters and insulation testers
- Power up sub-assemblies and confirm correct voltage levels at all test points
- Identify and isolate faults at the component level; document findings clearly
- Carry out functional checks on pumps, heaters, motors, and actuators wired to the ECU
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain wiring records, test logs, and inspection checklists for every unit assembled
- Flag non-conformances in components, harnesses, or PCBs to the engineering team
- Follow and suggest improvements to wiring SOPs, assembly instructions, and test procedures
- Keep the workstation and tools organised; maintain calibration status of test equipment
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI pass in Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, or COPA; OR Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or ECE
- 1 to 4 years of experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, harness, or electronics manufacturing
- Experience in control panel assembly, OEM machine wiring, or EMS/PCBA environment is preferred
- Hands-on soldering experience (through-hole minimum; SMD is a strong plus)
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, circuit schematics, and ECU layout drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools: wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, heat guns, and ferrule tools
- Confident use of multimeter, continuity tester, and basic oscilloscope
- Knowledge of wire gauges, terminal types, connector standards, and cable management
- Understanding of basic electrical safety: isolation, earthing, fuse ratings, and working on live boards
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with 24V DC control systems, motor drivers, or relay logic panels
- Experience with insulation testing, hi-pot testing, or CE/BIS compliance checks
WHAT YOU GET
- Work on real deployed hardware that powers live kiosks
- Hands-on exposure to embedded electronics, control systems, and robotics
- Learn directly from the engineering team across electrical, firmware, and mechanical domains
- Clear growth path to Senior Technician / Engineer / Electrical Lead
- Salary upto 20k
