Assistant Accountant

Job Description: Accountant Position Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, maintaining accurate books of accounts, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting the finance team with reports, audits, and analysis. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work with financial data efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting entries, ledgers, vouchers, and financial records.
• Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable, verify invoices, and reconcile vendor/customer balances.
• Handle bank reconciliation, cash payments, deposits, and petty cash management.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, MIS reports, and assist in finalization of accounts.
• Ensure timely GST, TDS, and other statutory filings and reconciliations.
• Support payroll processing, maintain reimbursement records, and update statutory deductions.
• Maintain inventory and fixed asset registers; assist in stock audits.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare documentation for audits.
• Enter and update financial data in accounting software (Tally/SAP/Marg).
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST, and TDS.
• Experience with accounting software like Marg,Tally, SAP, or Zoho Books.
• Good Excel skills and analytical ability.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
