Barista – Job DescriptionPosition Summary:

A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers in a café or food service environment. The role involves interacting with customers, taking orders, operating coffee machines, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. A Barista should provide excellent customer service while ensuring consistency in beverage preparation and presentation.

• Key Responsibilities:Greet customers warmly and take their beverage and food orders accurately
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold drinks, including espresso-based beverages, teas, and specialty drinks
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow recipes and presentation standards to maintain product quality and consistency
• Handle payments using POS systems and issue receipts
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation, counters, and seating areas
• Restock supplies such as cups, lids, napkins, milk, syrups, etc.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally
• Assist in opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and locking up
• Required Skills and Qualifications:Previous experience as a Barista or in a food service role preferred
• Knowledge of coffee and espresso brewing techniques is a plus
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Basic math skills for handling cash and POS transactions
• Work Environment:Fast-paced café or food retail setting
• Requires standing for long periods
• May involve lifting light to medium loads (up to 10–15 kg)
