Cashier

🧾 Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling all billing transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth checkout experiences and maintaining financial accuracy in a jewellery retail environment.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

1.     Handle billing and invoicing for gold, diamond, silver, and other jewellery purchases

2.     Accurately calculate product value, making charges, GST, and discounts

3.     Process multiple payment modes (Cash, UPI, Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Transfers)

4.     Maintain daily cash balance and reconciliation

5.     Generate and maintain bills, receipts, and transaction records

6.     Coordinate with sales staff for smooth checkout and customer handling

7.     Handle exchange, returns, and old gold transactions as per company policy

8.     Ensure proper billing software usage (ERP/POS systems)

9.     Assist in end-of-day reports and audit processes

10. Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data

🧠 Skills & Requirements

1.     Basic knowledge of gold rate calculation & jewellery billing

2.     Strong numerical and calculation skills

3.     Familiarity with GST billing system

4.     Experience in retail POS software

5.     Good communication skills (English + Kannada preferred)

6.     High level of accuracy and attention to detail

7.     Ability to handle customers politely under pressure

🎓 Qualifications

1.     Minimum: PUC / Graduate (Commerce preferred)

2.     Experience: 0–3 years (Freshers can be trained)

3.     Prior experience in jewellery retail is an advantage

💡 Additional Responsibilities (Jewellery-Specific)

1.     Understand current gold rates and wastage calculations

2.     Support during festival rush (Akshaya Tritiya, Diwali, Wedding season)

3.     Ensure compliance with BIS Hallmark billing norms

4.     Cross-check weight, purity, and tagging before billing
