Job SummaryThe Kitchen Staff Cook will be responsible for preparing fresh, hygienic, and nutritious South Indian meals for senior residents, patients, visitors, and staff. The candidate should maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and timely meal preparation while following BELVAA Senior Care's kitchen policies.

• Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesPrepare South Indian breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner as per the daily menu.
• Cook items such as Idli, Dosa, Vada, Upma, Pongal, Sambar, Rasam, Rice varieties, Vegetable curries, Chutneys, and other traditional South Indian dishes.
• Ensure food is prepared on time and served fresh according to meal schedules.
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the Kitchen Supervisor about ingredient requirements.
• Minimize food wastage through proper storage and portion control.
• Follow special dietary instructions for senior citizens as prescribed by the Dietician or Management.
• Coordinate with kitchen helpers and other staff for smooth kitchen operations.
• Ensure proper storage of raw materials and cooked food.
• Comply with all BELVAA Senior Care policies and kitchen SOPs.
• RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience as a South Indian Cook.
• Good knowledge of authentic South Indian recipes and cooking techniques.
• Ability to cook for large groups while maintaining quality.
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
• Physically fit and willing to work flexible shifts when required.
