Job Description:

Meli Formals is looking for an experienced and skilled Cutting Master to handle the cutting department for both ladies’ and men’s wear garments. The candidate should have strong knowledge of garment patterns, fabric cutting, measurements, and production processes. The ideal candidate must be able to deliver accurate cutting with minimum fabric wastage while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut and prepare fabric for both ladies’ wear and men’s wear garments as per designs, patterns, and measurements.
• Understand and interpret garment patterns, size charts, and specifications.
• Prepare fabric layouts and ensure efficient fabric utilization.
• Perform accurate cutting with proper alignment and minimal wastage.
• Check fabric quality, defects, shrinkage, and ensure proper fabric handling before cutting.
• Manage cutting operations and ensure timely completion of production requirements.
• Coordinate with pattern makers, stitching teams, and production supervisors.
• Ensure proper bundling, numbering, and transfer of cut panels to the stitching department.
• Maintain cutting records and monitor fabric consumption.
• Guide and supervise cutting assistants/helpers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cutting Master in garment manufacturing.
• Must have experience in cutting both ladies’ wear and men’s wear.
• Good knowledge of formal wear construction, patterns, and measurements.
• Ability to handle different fabrics and garment styles.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to meet production deadlines.
