Kitchen Steward

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning & Sanitation: Operates dishwashing machines, handwashes pots and pans, cleans kitchen walls, surfaces, and ensures all items are sanitized according to health regulations.
• Waste Management: Segregates, collects, and disposes of garbage from kitchen areas, ensuring bins are emptied frequently to maintain hygiene.
• Inventory & Organization: Sorts, stacks, and returns dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment to designated storage areas to ensure smooth workflow.
• Support & Preparation: Assists chefs with basic food prep (e.g., peeling vegetables) and ensures workstations are well-stocked and ready for service.
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintains dry and clean floors to prevent accidents, cleans grease filters, and reports maintenance issues or pests to supervisors.

Key Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours, work in hot environments, and lift heavy items.
• Attention to Detail: Ensures all equipment is properly cleaned and stored to meet strict health codes.
• Teamwork & Communication: Coordinates efficiently with kitchen and service staff.
